Burbank man pleads not guilty to attempted murder in stabbing incident

A 31-year-old Burbank man who allegedly stabbed another man in the leg remains in custody after he pleaded not guilty on Monday to attempted murder, officials said.

Hayk Kazaryan is in custody in lieu of $1.1-million bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sherrif’s Department, and is due back in court Dec. 16 to schedule a preliminary hearing.

Kazaryan was arrested Nov. 30 on suspicion of stabbing Edmond Eskandari in the leg Nov. 16 in the 600 block of University Avenue, Burbank police Officer Joshua Kendrick said.

Eskandari “suffered severe leg wounds,” Kendrick said, adding a motive was still being investigated.

Kazaryan was arrested in North Hollywood.
