Police identify pedestrian killed in Wednesday crash

Pasadena police have made public the identity of a pedestrian killed in a car accident Wednesday. The victim is Charles Cervantes, 66, of Highland Park, who was identified by his brother, Michael Cervantes.
Charles Cervantes was hit by a car while walking near the intersection of Avenue 64 and Nithsdale Road at around 11 a.m. Wednesday. Some candles have been placed at the intersection in his honor. Michael Cervantes told authorities that Charles Cervantes frequently walked in the La Loma and San Rafael area.
“The driver will not be charged because it was an accident,” said Pasadena Police Lt. Phlunte Riddle.
