An early blaze swept through a medical supplies store Thursday, causing $80,000 in damage, officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, which was reported about 2:56 a.m. at Ocean View Health Care on the 3400 block of Ocean View Boulevard, said Glendale Fire Battalion Chief Greg Godfrey.

Seven Glendale fire crews and a Los Angeles County Fire Department engine arrived to find heavy smoke and fire in the back of the medical supplies store, he said.

Crews quickly began poking holes into the store’s roof for ventilation to allow heated gases to escape, Godfrey said.

Meanwhile, firefighters worked to contain the fire and keep it from spreading into other units in the business complex.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but damage to the structure was estimated at $50,000, he said and loss of the store’s contents was estimated at $30,000.
