Warming trend to push daytime temps into upper-80s

A building ridge of high-pressure is expected to push the mercury into the upper-80s this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will hit the mid-80s in the tri-city area today before peaking on Wednesday, “especially in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys,” the weather service said.

The heat won’t start subsiding until Friday, when daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-70s through the weekend.

Despite the warming trend, overnight lows will continue to be chilly, in the mid-40s.
