A wonderful tribute

I enjoyed reading the op-ed on the homecoming of Marine Col. James McGinley and the end of the war in Iraq (“Home for Christmas in Glendale,” Dec. 28). It was wonderful to see almost a half-page dedicated to a beautiful picture.

As Mark Thompson iterated in his cover story of the Nov. 21 issue of Time magazine: “Most Americans have little or nothing in common with their experience or the lives of the 1.4 million men and women in uniform.”

Thanks for the wonderful tribute to the end of an unnecessary war.
