Questioning Urban Initiatives director

I am embarrassed for Joe Colletti, who has studied, written about and worked with the homeless for many, many years (“Winter shelter mulls changing its rules,” Jan. 6).

As the executive director of Urban Initiatives, the consultant running the Burbank-Glendale homeless winter shelter, how could he let himself become involved with such a worthless “venture”?

The homeless are smarter than most people give them credit for. There is a reason they are staying away from the shelter in droves.
