The car was parked in a driveway on the 1500 block of Royal Boulevard, the doors unlocked and passenger window slightly rolled down, according to police reports.

At about 10:45 p.m., the owner noticed his interior car light was turned on, so he and a friend walked over to his car and allegedly saw Tamborrino standing next to the passenger door.

Tamborrino allegedly copped to trying to steal valuables from his car, but he fled after the owner said he was calling police.

Police arrested Tamborrino after they spotted him walking about a block away on Royal.

He allegedly told police that he was taking a walk when he thought he saw a dog inside the man’s car and opened the door to grab it.
