December 26, 1976 – January 7, 2012

Paul was born in Los Angeles on December 26, 1976, but moved to Glendale when he was just 3 months old. So you could say he was a life-long resident of Glendale. He loved life, which he shared with his friends, as he did with his great sense of humor.

Paul was a graduate of Glendale High School in 1995, where he really enjoyed dramatic arts. He went on to the University of California at San Diego and graduated with a degree in psychology in 1999. He then held many varied jobs, a counselor at a boys’ placement and with the Transportation Security Administration, among others. But he felt he needed more so he returned to academics at the California State University at Los Angeles and earned a Masters Degree with Honors in Business Administration (specialty in Human Resources) in 2010.

Paul was also active, when his schedule permitted, with the Elks. He was a member of the Glendale Lodge and an associate of the Oakhurst, CA, and Lake Havasu City, Az. lodges. He enjoyed assisting with the annual “Hoop Shoot” contest held by the Glendale Lodge and the annual Christmas parties for Children of less fortunate families held by the Oakhurst lodge.

Paul was enjoying life with two of his friends when he was called Home by our Father on January 7, 2012. On his demise, Paul predeceased his father, Christopher Despol and his mother, Elizabeth Anne Despol; his uncles, Allen and Albert Lee Stephens and Anthony Despol and his aunts Debi and Pam Stephens. He also leaves his cousin, Carrie Stephens Nellans, Judy Stephens Berry, LeeAnne Stephens, Clarke Stephens, Christy Despol Stempke and Heather Despol Walker. Also missing Paul are his cousins-once-removed: Savannah Sproule, Helen Berry, Elizabeth and Edward Nellans, and Elijah and Jackson Stempke. When all is said and done, Paul led a life rich in friends and family.
