Police crack down on prostitution in Sun Valley
Police are cracking down on prostitutes and pimps in a Sun Valley neighborhood that some residents call a “red light district.”
Authorities say prostitution along Lankershim Boulevard has been a problem for decades.
Business owners in the area complain that customers are being exposed to prostitutes.
Places like Valley Mexican Candy say prostitutes frequently walk in during business hours.
“Sometimes they tell us, oh they use condoms, can they use the restroom,” employee Naahi Gonzalez said.
“Sometimes they even want to ask the clients if they want service... It’s very uncomfortable for us.”
