Large black bear returns to foothill neighborhoods
A black bear spotted several items over the last few weeks has returned to a La Crescenta neighborhood, and some people say they’re starting to worry that the community isn’t safe.
Elva Sherman is the latest resident to spot the bear, just feet from her front door, reported KTLA-TV reported.
She heard her dog barking incessantly at about 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
“This big fuzzy bear just is walking like this... just happily walking down the street,” Sherman said, describing what she saw next.
Sherman said she called her son Thomas to the doorstep, and he came outside with a makeshift weapon.
The Sherman family says they were terrified of the big and intimidating animal.
“Weight-wise, it was 300 or 400 pounds,” Elva Sherman’s son said.
