Police search for fleeing motorist in Glendale

Glendale police are searching for a motorist who fled this morning when officers attempted a traffic stop, officials said.

The motorist, who was driving a Lexus, led police on a short pursuit on the Ventura (134) Freeway and exited near ABC-TV studios in the San Fernando Road corridor, police said.

The motorist and possibly one or more passengers exited the Lexus and ran into the Verdugo Wash, near Circle Seven Drive, police said.

Police have established a perimeter in the area in search of the motorist.

Officers have been heavily patrolling certain neighborhoods in East Glendale due to a rash of burglaries there, police said.
