Fire severely damages Glendale home

Share

Fire swept through a North Glendale home kitchen Friday night, causing about $120,000 in damages, officials reported.

Glendale firefighters found smoke billowing from the home front door on the 5200 block of Cheryl Avenue and discovered flames in the kitchen, Battalion Chief Greg Godfrey said.

The temperature inside the home was too hot for firefighters to enter, so crews ventilated the roof, he said.

No one was home during the blaze and no injuries were reported.

Damage to the home was estimated at $90,000, while the loss in contents was $30,000, Godfrey said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
