A Monrovia resident has been arrested for the December 2011 murder of a man in Northwest Pasadena.
On Friday Pasadena police arrested Chauncey Hollis, 41, for shooting Edward Santana, 43, of Altadena. Santana was trespassing in a backyard at Marengo Avenue and Tremont Street -- carrying robbery tools -- according to witnesses -- when he died.
A witness offered a helpful description of the car driven by the suspect and police later tied Hollis to the case. He was arrested while driving in East Pasadena on Friday.
Hollis, a parolee, is being held without bail at Pasadena jail.
The Santana homicide was the only slaying from 2011 for which Pasadena police had not previously made an arrest.
