Elementary school teacher puckers up to pig
The things principals do to motive their students. On Wednesday, Valley View Elementary School Principal Carla Walker proved how far some will go.
Much to the delight of her students, Walker puckered up with an enormous porker named Miss Marley — making good on a whimsical promise to first-grade teacher Holiday Woodward’s class for the successful completion of their accelerated reading program.
Last year, Woodward’s first-grade students were the first in school history to unanimously meet reading proficiency goals at both the first and second grade levels. This year, the teacher’s students repeated the feat, prompting the visit from Miss Marley.
