Glendale man arrested for allegedly threatening disabled neighbor in dispute over van service

A 42-year-old Glendale man was arrested last week for allegedly violating a restraining order by exposing his penis and threatening to cut a wheelchair-bound man’s head, police said.

The victim was waiting for paratransit van service at about 4:27 p.m. Thursday when his neighbor, Alex Sarkissian, allegedly told him “I will cut your head,” according to police reports. Sarkissian then allegedly exposed his penis and shook it at the man, who quickly turned away and called police.

Sarkissian denied the incident, telling officers that he had adjusted his pants while washing his car, according to police.

The wheelchair-bound man placed Sarkissian under citizen’s arrest for indecent exposure, while officers arrested him on suspicion of violating a court order, police said.

The alleged victim had been involved in a long-running dispute with Sarkissian over the paratransit service, according to Glendale police reports, since the vans block both of their driveways.

The dispute became so bad that the wheelchair-bound man obtained a court-order forbidding Sarkissian from “harassing, intimidating or contacting him in any way.”
