Sheared fire hydrant in Glendale causes a splash

A car crash that sheared off a fire hydrant Thursday in Central Glendale caused a gyser of water to flow up until fireifghters could turn off the flow of water.

The car crash at California and Glendale avenues caused a mess after the Nissan sedan hit the hydrant. The cause of the crash, or extent of injuries to the driver, were not immediately available.
