A 27-year-old man was assaulted with a wrought iron bench at a Burbank bar early Friday morning, police said.

At about 1:45 a.m., police arrived at the Park Bar and Grill on Burbank Boulevard and saw a man being treated by paramedics, Sgt. Darin Ryburn said.

“The victim was laying face down and there was a large puddle of blood on the floor next to his face,” Ryburn said.

A female witness reported seeing a man arguing with the victim inside the bar about a game of pool, while a second woman said she saw the man on the ground in the patio area with the bench on top of him. Ryburn said it was unclear how many people were involved.

“The victim suffered multiple fractures to his face,” Ryburn said, adding that the victim said he could not recall the incident.

The bar has a history of noise complaints, Ryburn said, saying police have received multiple calls from neighbors.
