Firefighters on Tuesday successfully contained a blaze to attic area of a multi-unit residential building in East Glendale, a city spokesman said.

The building in the 300 block of McHenry Road was evacuated of one tenant, but there were no immediate reports of injuries, city spokesman Tom Lorenz said.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately available.

A number of street closures were expected to remain in place as fire crews mopped up the scene.

Burbank firefighters were also called to the staging area at East California Avenue and North Chevy Chase Drive, but the extra assistance wasn’t needed.

The fire was initially reported at about 4:30 p.m., with initial reports of smoke coming from an attic.
