It was announced Tuesday afternoon that the senior was selected to the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and will be officially invited to the game during a small ceremony on campus Monday afternoon.

The U.S. Army issued a press release in which it stated that Rettig, one of 90 players selected nation-wide, would receive his an official U.S. Army All-American Bowl jersey Monday at 11:45 a.m. at an event open to the public.

Rettig, who has verbally committed to Louisiana State University, is one of two locals selected along with Pasadena resident and Alemany High wide receiver Stephen Mitchell.

The USC-bound Mitchell will be honored on his campus Friday.
