Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce to honor local leaders

Aldo Mascheroni and Mercy Velazquez will be named Man and Woman of the Year at the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual recognition banquet on Oct. 25.

A host of others will also be honored at the event, which starts at 6 p.m. at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club, 5500 Godbey Drive. Reservations to attend must be made by Oct. 17, the organization announced.

Robert Barney will be named Volunteer of the Year, Foothills Relay for Life will receive the Organization of the Year Award and Caspian Services Inc. will be honored as Business of the Year.

Educator of the Year honors will go to Grant Clark from Crescenta Valley High School. Guy Burstein from Clark Magent High School will be named Student of the Year.

Tickle Tree Café will receive the Beautification Award.

Local public safety officers will also be honored, including California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Denmon, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeffrey Martin, Glendale Police Officer Jeff Rivas and Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Don Kunitomi.
