Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to enter a Montrose home while a woman was inside.

Officers have set up a perimeter around Honolulu and Rosemont avenues and Agner and Sycamore avenues to search for the man, who was only described as wearing blue jeans and beige boots, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

Police dogs and a helicopter have been deployed to aid in the search.

The woman reported the break in about 11: 40 a.m. after she heard the man knock on the front door of her parent’s home in the 2600 block of North Sycamore Avenue, Lorenz said.

When she didn’t open the door, the man walked to the back of her home and shook the rear door handle, Lorenz said.

She immediately called police for help and has remained inside the home as officers look for the man, he added.
