Man shot and killed in San Fernando; suspect remains at large

Authorities are searching for a suspect in a Sunday night shooting in San Fernando that left a man dead.

Officials said San Fernando police received calls of shots fired in the 300 block of Hager Street at about 10:30 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene they found a Latino man lying in a carport with a gunshot wound, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Paramedics were called to the scene but the man, who has not been identified by authorities, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The San Fernando Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau are investigating the shooting and searching for a suspect in the case.
