Man attempts to rob woman in Glendale at gunpoint, she throws umbrella and runs away
A 63-year-old Glendale woman reported Saturday that a man tried to rob her at gunpoint as she walked to her daughter’s home, police said.
The woman was walking about 8:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Raleigh Street to her daughter’s home when a man suddenly jumped in front of her and pointed a black handgun at her chest, according to Glendale police.
She screamed, threw her umbrella at him and ran toward her home, police said.
A motorist stopped and helped the woman who was running and screaming.
She described the man as Latino, about 6 feet tall and skinny, police said. He was wearing a long gray coat, pants and something covering his head, police said.
