Glendale man arrested after he allegedly robs prostitute

A 57-year-old Glendale man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of robbing a prostitute, who he allegedly burned with a cigarette and shoved out of his car, police said.

The man, Hamlet Sarkisyan, was taken into custody about 10 a.m. after officers discovered the woman’s hair on the right side of her head was burned during a struggle with him, according to Glendale police.

Officers were alerted to Sarkisyan by another motorist who was driving on Dixon Street and yelled from his vehicle that a man was choking a woman on Rock Glen Avenue, according to police reports.

When officers arrived, the 23-year-old Los Angeles woman — dressed only in a fishnet outfit with wooden heels — thanked them and described how Sarkisyan allegedly solicited her for sex earlier that day, according to police.

She told officers that he asked her to follow him to his home in Glendale, where they engaged in sex acts, according to police.

As they discussed payment, he allegedly told her the money was in her car, police said. She entered his car after he agreed to drop her off, and then fight allegedly ensued that ended with him taking the money back and pushing her out the passenger door, police said.

After she fell to the ground he allegedly straddled her before walking back to his apartment. She quickly grabbed his keys and wallet from the car, got into her own vehicle and began to drive away when police officers arrived.

Sarkisyan reportedly told police the woman, who he said he knew, had come over to his home to hang out and denied paying for sex.
