Glendale police to conduct DUI checkpoint Saturday night

Share

Glendale police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Saturday night at an undisclosed location in the city.

Officers will also be looking for motorists who are driving without a valid license during the checkpoint, which will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

In December, police conducted a checkpoint at Los Feliz Boulevard and Gardena Avenue, where they arrested three motorists on suspicion of DUI and five others for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.

More than 1,600 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, where another six motorists were arrested on suspicion of driving without a valid license.

The checkpoints are being funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.

Fees for being arrested for DUI can exceed $10,000, police warned.
