Caltrans announces lane closures on I-5

The California Department of Transportation plans to close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the Golden State Freeway (5) and the Ventura (SR-134) freeways through March 16 as part of a $57.8 million improvement project to construct carpool lanes in each direction along the I-5 between SR-134 and Magnolia Boulevard.

Closures are subject to change.

Two off-ramps are undergoing long-term closures. They are the the eastbound and westbound off-ramps at Alameda Avenue along the southbound I-5, which is expected to open in April, and the eastbound and westbound off-ramps at Alameda Avenue along the northbound I-5, which are expected to open in May.

Other intermittent closures are:

* Southbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Alameda Avenue off ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Southbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Alameda Avenue on-ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Northbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Alameda Avenue off-ramps, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m

* Northbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Alameda Avenue on-ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Southbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Western Avenue off-ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Southbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Western Avenue on-ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

* Northbound I-5, westbound Colorado Boulevard on-ramp, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (until 9 a.m. on Sunday March 10)

* Southbound I-5 Connector to eastbound SR-134, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. (until 9 a.m. on Sunday March 10)

* Southbound I-5,eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue on-ramps, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

* Southbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue off-ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Northbound I-5, up to two lanes, from SR-134 to Burbank Boulevard, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and up to four lanes from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.

* Northbound I-5, up to three lanes from Colorado Boulevard to SR-134, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (until 10 a.m. on Sunday March 10), up to four lanes from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

* Southbound I-5 Burbank Boulevard to SR-134, up to three lanes, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (until 8 a.m. on Sunday March10)

* Northbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Western Avenue on-ramp, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Northbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Western Avenue off-ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Unti l10 a.m. on Sunday March 10) and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Northbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue off-ramps, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Westbound SR-134 Connector to Northbound I-5, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. (until 9 a.m. on Sunday March 10)

* Northbound I-5, eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue on-ramps, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (until 12 noon on Sunday March 10)

* Southbound I-5 , eastbound and westbound Burbank Boulevard onramps, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

* Westbound SR-134, northbound and southbound San Fernando Road, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

* Westbound SR-134 at I-5 intersection, up to three lanes, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
