Man robs Vons on Foothill Blvd. of several hundred dollars

A gun-wielding man robbed a cashier at a Vons grocery store on Foothill Boulevard of a few hundreds of dollars Friday, police said.

The man reportedly approached a cashier about 7:30 p.m. inside the store in the 3200 block of Foothill Boulevard, revealed a black handgun in his waistband and demanded money, according to Glendale police.

The cashier quickly removed the cash register’s tray and handed it to the man, who placed it in a plastic bag before leaving the store, possibly heading west on Foothill, police said.

He was described as Black or Latino, about 5 feet 11 inches tall with a large build and shoulder length dark hair. The man was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and a black “L.A. Dodgers” baseball cap.
