SPORTS ROUNDUP: Pasadena Poly knocks off undefeated Mark Keppel

BOYS’ TENNIS
Pasadena Poly 11, Mark Keppel 7: Behind the strength of their singles play, the Panthers remained undefeated this season with a nonleague road victory Wednesday afternoon versus then-beaten Mark Keppel.
Singles No. 1 and 2 players Henry La Soya and Matthew Johnson led the way for Poly (6-0) as the duo each finished 3-0 in picking up six valuable points.
No. 3 player Andrew Ruys de Perez added another singles’ win as Poly finished 7-2 in singles.
On the doubles side, the pairs of Sachin Puri/Andrew Trojan and Austin Gee/Ryan Kidman both finished 2-1 in picking up the Panthers’ four other points.
Keppel fell to 6-1.
SOFTBALL
Pasadena Poly 12, Flintridge Prep 1 (5 innings): The host Panthers picked up their first Prep League victory of the season by scoring at least two runs in each inning in rolling Wednesday afternoon.
Poly (4-3, 1-1) scored two runs in the first, three runs in the third and fourth innings and four in the third inning.
BASEBALL
Arroyo Grande 5, Maranatha 1: The Minutemen dropped their second game in as many games in Don Lugo Tournament action Wednesday afternoon.
Maranatha (4-8-1) will look for its first win in the tournament Thursday morning versus La Verne Lutheran at 9:30 a.m.
Covina 7, South Pasadena 4: It was tough sledding for the Tigers on Wednesday afternoon, as they dropped their second consecutive game of the Gladstone Tournament.
South Pasadena (8-7) opened with a 12-1 victory over Gladstone before dropping games to Charter Oak (12-1) and Covina.
Sonora 7, La Salle 2: The Lancers fell in their second game of the Anaheim Lions Tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
La Salle is now 8-7.
