Polytechnic School in Pasadena appoints new leader

Pasadena’s Polytechnic School has appointed a new leader, the school’s board of trustees announced.

John Bracker, who currently leads the Watkinson School in Connecticut, will take over as Poly’s head of school in July 2014, according to an announcement released on Tuesday.

Bracker will replace Debbie Reed, who announced her retirement earlier this year after helming the school since 2002.

The private K-12 school serves more than 850 students at its 15-acre East California Boulevard campus.

In a letter to school stakeholders, board members praised Bracker as an innovator and “a great fit with the culture of Poly.”
