Glendale Police cite alleged distracted drivers

More than 70 citations were issued to drivers during a distracted-driving enforcement operation Friday in Glendale, police said.

For that day, police focused on looking for motorists who were talking or texting on their cellphones while driving.

The operation, which was funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, came after a monthlong crackdown on distracted drivers.

Police cited 425 drivers in April for alleged cellphone violations.
