Heat warning remains in effect for Tuesday

High temperatures are expected to continue Tuesday across Southern California with a special heat advisory for many low-level mountain ranges.

The excessive-heat warning will remain in effect until 9 p.m. for mountains in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, where temperatures could top 100 degrees, the L.A. Times reported.

Temperatures aren’t expected to subside much in the tri-city area heading into the July 4 weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Starting Wednesday, temperatures in the greater Burbank-Glendale region are expected to cool down somewhat and remain in the mid-80s to mid-90s range until early next week. It will be much of same for the San Gabriel Valley.

Mountain bikers and hikers are advised to avoid hitting the trails during the warmest parts of the day. Children, the elderly, and those with chronic ailments are advised to avoid extended exposure to the heat.
