Headquarters for label maker Avery Dennison heading to Glendale

Label maker Avery Dennison Corp. will move its headquarters from Pasadena to Glendale in a bid to consolidate staff and update its work space.

The Fortune 500 company makes self-adhesive labels used on a wide variety of consumer goods: beer and wine bottles, shampoo and personal care items, pharmaceuticals and food. It also makes labels and tags attached to clothing.

Avery Dennison sold its building at 150 N. Orange Grove Blvd. near Old Pasadena to developer Legacy Partners Commecial Inc. this year and has been renting the 100,000-square-foot building back from Legacy Partners.

The label maker will move to about 54,000 square feet at 207 Goode Ave. in Glendale early next year, spokesman David Frail said, because the Pasadena building completed in the early 1980s no longer meets its needs.
