Glendale pharmacy hit for cash, Oxycodone

Share

Thieves broke through a drywall ceiling to gain access to a Glendale pharmacy on Sunday and stole cash and bottles of the prescription painkiller Oxycodone, police said.

At 8:26 p.m., officers found holes in the ceiling above two restrooms adjacent to the Verdugo Plaza Pharmacy in the 1800 block of Verdugo Boulevard, according to Glendale police.

Police believe thieves crawled through the holes and then entered the pharmacy, where they reportedly broke into a safe and stole $405.

They also took two bottles of Oxycodone, which were worth about $16 each, according to police.

However, the value of the pills could reportedly increase to up to $60 per pill when sold on the streets.

Police found several shoe prints and clothing that may have belonged to the suspects.
