Bear makes appearance in Glendale residential area
A California brown bear was spotted late Tuesday outside a home in the Chevy Chase Canyon neighborhood, police said.
Officers saw the bear, which they described as weighing about 300 pounds, at about 11:50 p.m. in the driveway of a home in the 3600 block of East Chevy Chase Drive, according to Glendale police.
Officers blew an air horn to distract the bear, which walked into a nearby hillside and disappeared, Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
No other sightings were reported, he added.
