Glendale police to hold DUI checkpoint

Glendale police will be cracking down on drunk drivers this weekend by holding a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the city between 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday.

Officers will also be checking to ensure drivers are licensed, according to the police department.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can result in jail time, revoked driving privileges, insurance rate hikes and fines of $10,000 or more.

The checkpoint is funded by a grant administered by the California Office of Traffic Safety under the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
