Apparent chemical spill prompts evacuation at Glendale Adventist Medical Center
The third-floor wing of the Glendale Adventist Medical Center was evacuated after a chemical spilled in a lab, officials said.
No injuries or patients were treated in connection with the incident at the hospital in the 1500 block of Wilson Terrace, said Brandy Villanueva, a Glendale Fire Department spokeswoman.
Glendale fire and Hazardous Material crews arrived at the hospital at 11:42 a.m. Monday after receiving reports about a possible chemical spill in one of the hospital’s labs, she added.
The third floor was already evacuated when fire personnel arrived.
Fire personnel are working on the spill to ensure it is cleaned properly, Villanueva said.
Fire officials are still trying to determine what type of chemical was spilled, she added.
