Renovated police substation set to reopen

Share

The Glendale Police Department’s Montrose Substation will reopen Tuesday after being closed for renovations for nearly a month.

An anonymous $10,000 donation from a local resident was expected to fund the renovations, which included new carpet, paint, office furniture and a prominent sign outside the substation in the 3800 block of Ocean View Boulevard.

The substation opened in 1996 to enhance neighborhood safety in north Glendale. Police officers often use the station to write up reports.

Residents stepped up to help fund the substation as volunteers help run it.

The Montrose Shopping Park Assn. pays the substation’s operating costs, while property owner Pat Grant has donated the office space.
