Woman arrested for allegedly soliciting sex in Glendale

Share

A 21-year-old woman was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of prostitution after she was discovered dancing, waving her arms and speaking to motorists on a south Glendale street, police said.

Athena Herbert was jumping and dancing about 2:45 a.m. near East Colorado Street and South Glendale Avenue when an officer drove by her, according to Glendale police. She reportedly continued dancing and jumping in attempt to get any driver’s attention, so he parked to observe her.

A motorist stopped to talk briefly with Herbert and then drove off, police said. But a second vehicle with a driver and passenger also stopped and she entered the vehicle after a short conversation.

The officer stopped the vehicle, talked to the driver, passenger and Herbert, and then discovered she was soliciting for sex, police said.

Officers have contacted Herbert in past about her behavior after receiving complaints about her, police said.
