An 18-year-old Glendale man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly climbed onto a balcony and peeked into an apartment, prompting one of the residents inside to scream, police said.

Joshua Escobar was taken into custody at 6:52 p.m. on suspicion of burglary at his home in the 1000 block of Irving Avenue, police said.

Escobar reportedly scaled a security fence outside an apartment building in the same block as his home and then climbed onto a unit’s balcony, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

A husband and wife were inside the apartment at the time and had their sliding door open.

The woman was washing dishes when she spotted Escobar as he reportedly stuck his head through the open sliding door.

She screamed when she caught a glimpse of Escobar, who immediately fled.
