Thief orders flowers, steals from register at Glendale shop
A thief reportedly stole about $900 from a Glendale flower shop after placing a bogus order for flowers to distract employees, police said.
At 8:52 p.m., the alleged thief entered Garden Flowers in the 1500 block of West Glenoaks Boulevard and placed an order for a flower arrangement, Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot said.
As the employees arranged a bouquet of flowers for him in the back of the shop, he reportedly walked around the front counter, opened the cash register and stole the cash inside. He quickly fled east on Glenoaks.
The suspect is described as Middle Eastern, between 20 and 25 years old, 6 feet 1, 165 pounds with a brown goatee, police said. He was wearing a black-and-white striped hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gray beanie and black fingerless gloves.
