Police: Glendale craft store subject of bomb prank

Police evacuated employees and shoppers from a Michaels near City Hall Monday afternoon following a report of a bomb at the craft store, but no suspicious packages were found, and authorities believe the incident may have been a prank.

Glendale police arrived at the store, in the 200 block of Glendale Avenue, at about 5:30 p.m., after a 911 caller claimed being shown a bomb, said Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

Bomb-sniffing dogs swept the area, but turned up nothing, leading police to believe the scare was potentially a prank, he said.
