Storm to bring gusty winds, rain, snow to Foothill communities
Temperatures across Southern California are expected to drop sharply Monday as a storm brings gusty winds, rain showers and snow at higher elevations, forecasters told the Los Angeles Times.

Foothill communities near the San Gabriel Valley area will likely see the steadiest rainfall, with up to an inch possible, said Andrew Rorke, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Most of the region, though, will see only “hit-or-miss” showers under mostly cloudy skies, he said.
“It’s going to spritz on you a couple of times,” Rorke said.
Several inches of snow may also fall at elevations above 5,000 feet, with 3 to 6 inches possible in the eastern San Gabriel mountains, according to the weather service.
Meanwhile, winds are expected to increase in strength through Monday evening. Forecasts of gusts of between 35 mph and 50 mph in some mountain areas and the Antelope Valley prompted the weather service to issue a high-wind advisory.
The storm is expected to move out by Wednesday, ushering in a period of warm, dry conditions, the weather service said.
