818 Round up: Glendale man accidentally shoots wife, Devil’s Gate Dam and vandalism

- A Glendale man accidentally fired a gun at his wife, injuring her in the torso. She survived and is in stable condition at a hospital.
- The deadline to leave a public comment regarding the Los Angeles County Public Works project that will remove more than 2.4 to 4 million cubic yards of debris from Devil’s Gate Dam is on January 6. Residents publicly protested the project, citing public health and safety concerns for nearby students.
- James Avery, who portrayed the commanding yet cuddly father figure on the hit 1990s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” died at a Glendale hospital Tuesday of complications from open heart surgery.
- Burbank police are investigating a series of vandalism incidents after three vehicles within three blocks were found Wednesday with slashed tires and etched with derogatory words.
