818 Roundup: Flight delays, Paul Walker and Roger Rodas autopsy report, mountain lion sighting
Happy weekend, readers! Today is Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. Here are the latest headlines for the 818 region:
Several flights out of Bob Hope Airport in Burbank were affected by the heavy snow storms in the Northeast. Travelers heading towards that region of the U.S. are advised to check in with airlines for specific flight information.
- Paul Walker and Roger Rodas, who both had Glendale ties, were traveling at more than 100 mph when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT in which they were riding crashed, killing them both, according to a Los Angeles County coroner’s report released Friday. The autopsy reports also stated that neither Walker nor Rogas had drugs or alcohol in their systems.
Former Burbank Unified educator, administrator and coach Benjamin Hamilton Lloyd, known as “Ham” to generations of Burbank students and locals, passed away Dec. 30 from congestive heart failure, his family said. He was 89.
A mountain lion was spotted Friday morning in the backyard of a hillside home in Burbank, a week after a suspected mountain lion attack that killed an 85-pound black Labrador retriever owned by a Glendale couple.
