818 Round up: Verdugo Fire Academy graduation, Stan Lynch passes away, Renal Prom donations

The Verdugo Fire Academy graduated 41 cadets in a ceremony on Saturday after an intensive yearlong training program. The 39 men and two women who graduated are now trained and state certified to become firefighters.
Lifelong Burbank resident, educator and managing editor of myBurbank.com Stan Lynch died of natural causes on Friday, Jan. 3. He was 68. Funeral arrangements are still pending, but family and friends are raising funds for the funeral.
- The Renal Support Network is preparing for its 15th annual Renal Teen Prom for young kidney-disease survivors and their guests. The organization is accepting donated dresses and accessories until Saturday at the Polish Bar, 367 N. Chevy Chase Drive in Glendale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
