Hundreds of people from Burbank and Glendale came out Sunday morning at four Jewel City churches to counter a demonstration by eight members of the Westboro Baptist Church, a group renowned for protesting at gay marriages, military funerals and warning of divine retribution. Glendale News-Press

Accused of bending an ear to Armenian lobbyists, Assemblyman Mike Gatto (D-Silver Lake) has introduced a resolution in the state Assembly, urging the United States to recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic as a sovereign state, raising the ire of Azerbaijanis in the United States and abroad.
