Grandview Library held a week-long celebration for its 50th anniversary, culminating with a birthday bash for the library on Friday with games, storytelling and children decorating 100 cupcakes.

On Monday, there was a retirement party for children’s librarian Edgar Bullington, or Mr. B, who is retiring after 26 years, said Katherine Loeser, branch librarian at Grandview. As part of the event, Bullington was presented with a picture book, she added.

Other anniversary activities held at the library, located at 1535 5th St., included a performance by a magician and a watercolor workshop where children learned how to paint “selfies,” Loeser said.
