A federal jury on Friday found that two Los Angeles police officers did not use excessive force when they arrested Brian Mulligan, 54, a La Cañada Flintridge resident and one-time bank and Hollywood executive they believed to be under the influence of the drug bath salts, the Los Angeles Times reports.
An early morning fire at Descanso Gardens that ripped through a maintenance shed storing chemicals and gardening equipment may have cost at least half a million dollars in damage. It took about 30 Los Angeles County and Glendale firefighters roughly two hours to knock down flames inside the shed, which spread to several surrounding vehicles, said Inspector Scott Miller of Los Angeles County Fire. No one was injured.
Seeking input for a plan that would put the so-called Rim of the Valley under federal protection, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) hosted a town hall forum this week that drew about 150 people.
