Camille Levee, former executive director of Glendale Healthy Kids who left to take a position in Arizona in 2012, has returned to the tri-city area as executive director of Women at Work in Pasadena.

As the exuberant leader of Glendale Healthy Kids, Levee became a fixture in the local nonprofit community for 5 1/2 years.

Uma Shrivastava, president of Women at Work, said the organization is pleased to have Levee’s skills and experience as it moves to its next level of development.

For 35 years, Women at Work has striven to empower women, no matter what their education, with employment services. With the economic down-turn in recent years, the organization has broadened its mission to provide services to both men and women seeking work.

Levee said she’d had a long relationship with Women at Work.

“I have collaborated with Women at Work over the past 12 years”, Levee said in a statement. “The mission of providing clients the opportunity to reach their full employment and earnings potential is critical, especially since women still earn only 77 cents to each [man’s] earning dollar.”

The organization plans to have a reception welcoming Levee from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Women at Work job resource center, 2555 E. Colorado St., Suite 204, Pasadena.
