Power outages in La Crescenta, Rosemont Middle School

Share

A power outage was reported in the La Crescenta area at 9:25 a.m., affecting 1,396 customers, according to Southern California Edison officials.

Officials have not determined a cause, Robert Villegas, a spokesman for the utility, said.

The boundaries of the impacted area are Whittier Drive to the north, Verdugo Boulevard to the south, Loma Vista Drive to the east and Rosemont Avenue to the west.

“We expect restoration in the early afternoon,” Villegas said.

Rosemont Middle School Asst. Principal Jackie Scott said power to the school remains out. She said Glendale Unified School District officials have been notified, and administrators are walking through the campus to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

“We want to make sure things are as safe as possible,” she said. “We make sure we have flashlights available if students need to use the restroom, typical things you’d do when the power is down at your house, everything except candles.”
